Distinguished Faculty Awards
The Distinguished Faculty Awards Program recognizes and honors faculty who have distinguished themselves in teaching, scholarship, service and overall excellence. Criteria, instructions for nominations and timelines are administered by the Office of the Provost and found on the Distinguished Faculty Awards website.
Commencement and special awards
Special awards and honorary degrees are generally given at Virginia Commonwealth University Commencement. The board of visitors has adopted a policy, Awarding Honorary Degrees and Other Special Awards, which contains the specific requirements for awarding the Presidential Medallion, Edward A. Please note: Nominations are either submitted to the nominee’s dean by the nominee’s department chair, or via self-nomination to Faculty Affairs in the Office of the Provost.

President’s Awards for Professional and Administrative Distinction
In 2013, VCU established the President's Awards for Professional and Administrative Distinction. These awards honor VCU and VCU Health employees for their outstanding performance, achievement and service excellence.
Presidential Awards for Community Multicultural Enrichment (PACME)
PACME recognizes those VCU and VCU Health System individuals and groups who have made exemplary contributions with regard to promoting civility, building community, establishing cross-cultural initiatives, advocating equity, and nurturing a welcoming and inclusively excellent environment throughout the university and area communities.
